Publick House Wedding Sturbridge, MA – Colleen + Michael. I’m thankful for this past summer and fall. Even though there was a horrible pandemic going on (and I believe we shouldn’t have opened up to the extent we did), I was fortunate enough to continue working. Most of my work is done outside and at a distance. In some cases, weddings were able to happen in a scaled back capacity. Colleen + Michael was one of those weddings.

The Publick House is such a beautiful venue and provides such a great backdrop for weddings. Even at midday with no clouds, we were still able to get great photos and capture amazing memories. Because of restrictions and not wanting to be too enclosed for too long, getting ready and details were short and sweet, but still soooo gorgeous!
The Ceremony
The ceremony was under this amazing tree with barns in the background. Colleen + Michael were married surrounded by closest family and friends. They had so many personal touches throughout the day that made it uniquely them. They embraced their son, Cole, and nieces and nephews and made them all a part of the wedding party. A family member played music. It was awesome to see love from everyone shine down on them throughout the whole ceremony.
We took some photos under that wonderful tree. Then, we journeyed to the barns for some extra special Colleen + Michael photos. I loved seeing how happy they were to be joining their lives together, finally.
The Reception
Their reception was tented and opened out to a lawn with a gazebo. They enjoyed a first dance, mother/son dance, and toasts, but no other dancing. Instead, the rest of the festivities were out on the lawn where they enjoyed ladder golf, big jenga, and corn hole. While it’s a bummer to not have dancing, it was fun to see people making the most of it and enjoying their day.
My time at the reception ended with a jenga match between Colleen + Michael. They met through mutual friends at a house party playing that exact game. They wanted to make sure they documented this event especially at their wedding. It was awesome getting to know this fun little family. They were a great group to be around and clearly love spending time together. Check out their engagement photos from earlier that summer. Congratulations Colleeen + Michael!!
