Caitlin + Steve’s NYE wedding was a great way to end 2020. Like a lot of other weddings last year, I was not sure what it would look like up to the last minute. Despite having to rearrange their plans multiple times, it was as classy as you’d expect a New Year’s Eve Wedding to be. Everything was black and gold, sparkly, and had an art deco feel. The details were so glamorous and so were Caitlin + Steve.
Caitlin + Steve’s NYE Wedding
I can’t say enough about Caitlin + Steve. They’re both super sweet and calming to be around. I ran from room to room capturing all their amazing details and snapping some getting ready fun while I went. As their wedding had to be downsized a bit, it was just a small group of family and friends all spread out to minimize contact. One of the most important memories they wanted captured was a gift exchange! I love this memory for them most of all. It was such a sweet moment and they both did such a cute job with their gifts. I loved getting to share this with them.
The Ceremony
They had fires setup around their yard to keep guests warm. Their ceremony was in front of a gorgeous hexagonal arbor (which Steve built!) and decorated with lights and fabric to add to all the magic. What was most important to Caitlin was getting Steve’s reaction as she came down the aisle. I was told Steve never cries and that it would probably just be a smile, but when he saw Caitlin, he got really emotional and it was very touching. They were both clearly so happy to have finally gotten to this point. Their ceremony was emotional + silly, but those are my favorite kind.
Afterwards, we took photos with the family + wedding party in front of the arch. When it was Caitlin + Steve’s turn, we did a few in the same spot and waited for it to get a little darker before walking around the woods a bit. They were so happy and clearly, so in love. Everyone relaxed a bit and we had a blast walking around trying different things. Caitlin + Steve have a wonderful support system fo family and friends who helped with anything I needed. It was such a good group.
The Reception
As the night got dark, they had toasts, dances, and hung out at fire pits spread out around their yard. One final thing we wanted to do for NYE was a sparkler ceremony. Honestly, I don’t know how you can get married on New Years Eve without something like that. It was so much fun creating this extra magical memory. I had a blast celebrating with Caitlin + Steve and wish them all the best on this next phase of life!
