My Dream Wedding Venues 2017 – CT: When it comes to small states and towns, I feel like there aren’t a lot of resources for seeking out photo session locations. I would like to fill that gap, so I’ve decided to every year make a list of the best session locations from the previous year (see posts for 2015 and 2016) and I also want to begin making a post of places I’d like to visit and since I’m hoping to work with people in both CT and Mass, I’m going to try and keep up with making posts for both locations. So, here’s My Dream Wedding Venues – CT edition!

Being new to CT, I haven’t been to a lot of these places (or a lot of places), so this isn’t really an ultimate list, just a list of what’s on my mind right now. The choices are not in any particular order.

I’ll start with one venue that I have been to:

#1 The Barns at Wesleyan Hills

This is the only venue on this list that I’ve been to (for a wedding). My brother-in-law got married here in Nov. 2015 and it was such a wonderful place. It wasn’t the warmest of November days, but that hardly mattered with how beautiful their wedding was. The venue was super accommodating and had a wonderful staff. They had a hill for an outside ceremony overlooking a lake and it was gorgeous when the sun started going down. They had lights strung up inside and out, which is one of my favorite things ever. I’m a huge sucker for string lights and lanterns. The inside had a barn/lodge feel that made for a romantic ambiance during the reception. Overall, I would LOVE to get to photograph a wedding here myself. Check it out here.

#2 The Lace Factory

I know I said no particular order, but this is my favorite one on the list, right now. This venue is a factory style with wood floors and giant windows. The pictures show lots of string lights and fabric hung from a gorgeous ceiling. The whole aesthetic is just gorgeous and when I look at it, I can just picture a lot of candles everywhere. The pictures show long tables (which, I really love), brick walls and a breathtaking ceremony space (indoors and out). I’m thinking about doing a styled shoot sometime this year and I am thinking this is the place I want to do them. LOVE. Check out their website!

#3 My Little Ladies Farm

I’ve been following My Little Ladies Farm on Instagram for awhile now and it’s such an adorable barn style venue. The way things are styled in photos is so cute and rustic, anyone who is thinking about a barn style wedding should really look into this place. The outside is painted red (adorable) and the inside is all wood and rafters. They seem to style things with fabric, lights, and even have a beautiful chandelier. This is definitely one to check out.

# 4 Mystic Aquarium/Maritime Aquarium

Confession time: I’m obsessed with the ocean and all types of sea creatures. I’ve been to the Mystic Aquarium a few times just to look around, but never for a wedding. I’m in love with the idea of getting married at an aquarium (when I was looking for venues for myself, the New England aquarium was my dream). It’s so unique and different and I know the couple that chose this type of venue would be my client sole mate haha. Aquarium weddings seem so magical. The Mystic Aquarium would be amazing, too, because so much is outdoors.

I’ve never been to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT, but it looks amazing in photos. The wedding photos are so colorful and moody and it looks like there are options to be surrounded by the aquarium tanks. This one is definitely one for the bucket list. Check out the Mystic Aquarium or Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

#5 Madison Beach Hotel

The Madison Beach Hotel in Madison, CT is another real dream venue. My dream wedding (other than a wedding at Disney World) was getting married on a beach. I had to compromise this dream when I was looking for my own venue, but the Madison Beach Hotel looks like the kind of place I would’ve fallen in love with. It looks like it’s right along the beach and opens up onto the shore for a beach ceremony. Seriously, I’m drooling looking at this venue. How romantic would it be to get married with the beach in the background (again, I’m picturing tons of candles). Check out the Madison Beach Hotel here.
