How long does a session take?
It depends on the type of session, but on average I would say about 45/50 minutes. A newborn session can some times take up to two hours while we are patient with baby and families can sometimes take longer as well because of the amount of people/attention spans. I usually budget out 45 min-1.5 hours for an individual session. Mini-sessions are usually 20 min! These are best for people with less time/small kids who might not sit as long. Perfect for a few great photos!
How far in advance should I book?
The short answer is as far as possible. I would suggest as things get busier that at least a month is a good rule of thumb. Especially from August onto Fall, it tends to get very busy. 1-2 months during the busy times.
What are your prices?
This again depends on the type of session you are looking for. Session fees range from $275-$350, include digital files, and are calculated by taking into account time and amount of people involved. The average person will also spend $250-$500 on print packages. See more about investment here.
How far will you travel?
For weddings, travel up to two hours is included in your package and for regular sessions, I will travel up to an hour/50 miles (over this amount will result in a $20 fee which we will discuss beforehand). This is a somewhat loose guideline, which I would be happy to discuss.
What is your process like?
The session fee is required to book your date (1/3 of wedding package). I’m available at all times to answer questions and concerns you might have and am always willing to meet with you for coffee and to discuss things/look at samples before any commitments are made. I want to be a friend and an ally and will provide you with any advice or assistance I can. I will discuss your needs with you and prepare for your session/wedding date thoroughly. After your session, I try to provide photos within two weeks for regular sessions (usually more like 7-10 days) and within four weeks for weddings. Your photos will be delivered to you in an online gallery for easy viewing and ordering. At this point, I will either setup an online cart for you to purchase though the gallery or I will setup an ordering session to go over everything together.
How long until I see the photos from my session?
Regular sessions: up to two weeks (usually within 7-10 days)
Weddings: within 4 weeks
How long does it take to receive print products?
Print products: usually within a week
Canvases: 2-3 weeks
Albums: 2-4 weeks, depending on the album purchased
